Certainly the most comfortable place to watch Golden Eagles must be the kitchen window at Balranald Bay View Cottage, North Uist, Outer Hebrides.
During November 2019 we regularly watched two flying over the bay and perching on rocks at low tide. Early afternoon was a favourite time and some days they were here for over an hour. Seagulls mobbed them and a dozen Grey Herons took to the skies as they arrived.
Viewing through the kitchen window means that the Eagles are level with us and the sea as a backdrop ensures unusually good detail.
Comfy chair, cup of tea, nice and warm, binoculars in hand and Golden Eagles in the frame.
Fantastic!
